Spotlight Publicity had the pleasure of working with Diane Les Becquets to promote the release of Season of Ice, a YA novel which details a teen-aged girl’s struggle to cope with the disappearance of her father. Les Becquets won the PEN American/ Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Award for her touching story of loss and forgiveness.
“Well written and evocative…draws the reader into a starkly beautiful landscape the author knows well.” - The PEN American / Phyllis Reynolds Naylor Award Committee.
After numerous interviews and signings, the northeast tour wrapped up with a journey to the furthest parts of Maine, where the story takes place, and Les Becquets engaged in ice racing with several of the locals as well as the young lady with whom she interviewed at length and modeled her protagonist after. Local media covered the event, and a signing took place in town.
Les Becquets is the author of Love Cajun Style, The Stones of Mourning Creek and was hailed as “A writer to watch” by Publisher’s Weekly. She works as the Director of the MFA program at Southern New Hampshire University.
